All to often victims of crime, particularly serious crime such as rape and murder, see sentencing, prisons, probation and parole as ‘an insult’ to the suffering they have endured and in many cases continue to endure for the rest of their lives. How the Parole Board could not have foreseen the public outcry on their decision about John Worboys beggars belief.
