When a loved one is taken through homicide or a culpable road death, the pain is immediate — but the challenges that follow can last a lifetime. Many families find themselves navigating an overwhelming emotional landscape while also struggling to access the information and support they so urgently need.
Sadly, delays in communication or a complete lack of support are far too common. Each family member may grieve differently, and without tailored support, individuals can face a number of difficulties, including:
- Misuse of alcohol or drugs
- Loss of motivation or direction
- Decline in confidence and self-worth
No single organisation can meet all the emotional, psychological, and practical needs that arise after such devastating loss. That’s where The HUB steps in — to fill the gap.
The HUB – Filling the Void
The HUB is a central gateway to support, designed to help families access the right help at the right time. After meeting with a family, our team takes the time to understand each person’s unique needs before connecting them with the most appropriate agency or service.
We work with a carefully chosen network of trusted organisations, each specialising in a specific area — from emotional wellbeing and trauma support to legal guidance, housing, and more.
But we don’t stop at making referrals. The HUB stays involved — checking in regularly, maintaining contact with families, and ensuring that the support being offered is working. We also liaise with the National Probation Service, Victim Liaison Officers (VLOs), and Merseyside Police’s Homicide Section & Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) to ensure no family is left behind.
No one should have to go through this alone. If you or someone you know has lost a loved one due to homicide or culpable road death, The HUB is here to help — with understanding, guidance, and a network of support tailored to your needs.
