On 15 April 2025, we mark 36 years since the Hillsborough disaster. 97 lives were so tragically taken that day in 1989. We remember each one of them with love and respect. This day means a lot to so many of us, especially here in Merseyside. It’s a time to come together, to stand with the families, and to keep the memory of the 97 alive in everything we do.
This year, a special tribute will take place at Anfield during Liverpool FC’s home match against West Ham United on Sunday 13 April. A moving mosaic will be displayed on the Kop, standing as a powerful visual reminder of the tragedy, the strength of the families, and the solidarity of a city that will never forget.
Let us honour the 97 not only in remembrance, but through continued action, awareness, and unity. May their legacy always guide us in building a fairer and more supportive society.
Rest in peace to the 97. Never forgotten. Always remembered. YNWA.
